The Repairs & Mirrors

After our previous trip the leak needed to be fixed!!!!

I took the caravan into work for a colleague who's more hands on than me to do this. The entrance to the yard with the caravan on the back was tricky..... Ended up smashing a rear jack pad off. (There's always something to sort ouyt I've noticed)

The Seal came from Bailey. £55 worth only to find that the bloody seal wasn't leaking, it was the hinge panel at the top of the glass. A couple of quid on silicone sealant and the leak had been fixed 🙌🙌🙌.

The next task was to then take the caravan to have 2 tyres fitted. (check your dates stamped on the tyres, you only get 5 years on them!!!!)

Left the yard at work, BANG, the other jack pads smashed off. Something didn't seem right with this!!!

Took the caravan to the tyre place and couldn't get into their yard. The caravan was bottoming out on the road the the back.
Mentioned it to colleagues at work who advised the car (Nissan navara) is sat too high causing the back end of the caravan to drop. Spoke with the towbar fitter who advised to fit either a drop plate or if we could, move it to the lower bolt holes. I got a customer to do this for me with the air gun and jobs a good un.

The caravan now sits right and with 1 & 1/2 inches dropped at the front dds around 4-6 in lift at the rear 👌 apparently inches make all the difference so I'm told 😜.

Now to stop the banging mirrors..... If you've bought maypole towing mirrors...... Bin them. They're rubbish. They keep folding in. Did plenty of research and bought the milenco aero mirrors. They're a tear shaped mirror with an aerodynamic back on that forces the wind around the mirror. Fitted these and had no problems since.

As always there's something else to sort. Now the groaning on the alko towing hitch!!!!!!!

Countdown to Cornwall is on. Best to get these issues out of the way before the big un.
